We love working with old cutlery and are very passionate about bringing it back to life, we have also enjoyed researching the origin of the spoon ring, which dates back to the 17th century.

The legend goes servants could not afford to buy wedding rings made from precious metals, so they would steal flatware from the manor houses, and turn it into rings for their loved ones. People could tell where they had come from by the crests and monograms engraved on the newly transformed rings, so the culprits were easily spotted.

Convicts could have been transported from England to Australia and other colonies, for committing crimes such as stealing silver spoons.

A gesture of love could have seen them banished across the seas!
